πŸ™ all goes smoothly.

Their family is complete!

Wonderful!...Phyllis

A month ago we were not sure about Penelope. We were preparing for her loss. We thought she was about to have to be put down. She was lame and loosing weight. Now look at her! She is still sore from time to time with her arthritis and will limp but she is looking good and even got a little trot going on. Yay!! So proud of her. ... See moreSee less

This is why we rescue. Never give up because their stories are just beginning. They deserve to be happy after all they have been through. What a wonderful happy ending this sweet boy got.#transformationthursday featuring Jake ❀️

Fate whispers to the warrior
“You cannot withstand the storm.”
And the warrior whispers back
“I am the storm.”

Found in October 2020.
He collapsed hidden away in the dirt.
He was preparing to die.
Bugs were eating him alive; even his eyes.
He was bloody, motionless and lifeless.
He barely lifted his head up to us talking to him.
Lasted an hour and a half car ride to Vergi 24/7.
Coded twice.
Was revived both times!
Proved to be a MIRACLE.
Took a two hour risky transport to Texas A&M.
Finally opened his eyes after a week.
He had to learn to walk all over again.
Gained over 50lbs!
Learned he was 100% Siberian Husky!
Made it through entropion surgery.
Found his forever family πŸ₯°

“... And here you are living despite it all.”

Forever proud of this boy and the fire inside him! This is definitely a transformation for the books! Thank you to everyone who helped make his magical journey possible!

This stuff just breaks my heart

I am so sorry for both, I am sure it was hard for the family. I hope he gets his forever home soon.

Heartbreaking

Shame on them.

There will be another who will love him more. But this is sad.

People don’t realize how smart a dog is and they love with all their heart

This makes me so angry very few cases where anyone should drop off a animal who loves with all their heart hope they never get another animal. I hope this sad an precious baby gets a home with a loving family who truly loves him.

😭😭😭😭

I am so sorry they just left you, I hope you find a wonderful forever home with lots of love ❀️

This very sad but at the same time non of us know why the family made this choice..... Id rather see this then them dropping him on a side road somewhere...... Maybe they fell on hard times an couldnt afford to feed him & the family....maybe they had to move an the new place didnt allow dogs or they had medical reasons as to why.... Over half of rentals now days do not allow pets anymore an this is a sad result of that.... No reason to bash an be mad becuase they made a hard decision to surrender an give him another chance to find a loving home..... I pray for the family & for this sweet baby to find love again

Y'all, please STOP shaming and guilting people for surrendering their pets. Do you have any idea how hard it is for the owner to let go of an animal they have cared for? Do you know the owners cry and hurt when they see the look on the face of the pet they are surrendering? Do you even care to know WHY the owner felt that surrendering was the right thing to do for the pet? Let me tell you the OTHER SIDE. I recently surrendered several of my dogs. I did this because I did, and still do, love them. I had been trying for years to reduce the number of dogs I had. I called every no kill shelter I could find, reached out to a classmate who works with feline rescue to see if she could help, asked people who I knew would be excellent pet owners if they could help, and nothing panned out. I wouldn't post a "free to a good home" ad because I have this huge fear of my dogs being used in dog fights, or going to homes where they would be abused and mistreated. I worked with my vet to try to get them rehomed, and even that didn't work. I am on a fixed income, so having them spayed and neutered was out of my budget. Therefore, the number kept growing. But rather than put the animals at risk, I would do without for myself in order to make sure they had food and safe living conditions. A few months ago, I saw a post on here for Lake Martin Animal Sanctuary and I contacted them. Jennie was the ONLY rescue who returned my messages and phone calls. She told me how their program worked and the requirements fosters and adoptive pet owners had to meet before even being considered for a pet. I felt that my dogs would be as protected by Jennie and the groups she works with, as they were with me. So, together, she and I worked out a plan for surrender and removal. She didn't come in and take the ones I was releasing all at once. I don't think I could have survived that. She would take two or three at a time unless it was a momma with puppies; they would leave together. Jennie stood in my dining room and hugged me while I cried like a baby when I signed the release forms. It was without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. In my heart I know I did the right thing. In my mind I know it was the sensible thing. But that didn't keep the self inflicted guilt from overwhelming me at times. I still have nights where I'm missing them so badly it physically hurts. I gave them up because I love them. I knew I wasn't able to take care of them the way they deserve to be taken care of, so I put my personal wants aside and put their needs first. My dogs were happy and healthy. There were five who had a health issue I wasn't aware of, but that has been corrected and they are doing great. Jennie keeps me updated on them, and when I see pictures of them with their new owners, and I see the pampering they are receiving and the smiles on their faces, I know it was the right choice. Yes, there are owners who surrender their pets simply because they don't want to take care of them anymore. But not every surrender is for that reason. Stop judging people you know nothing about. Believe me, you can't guilt a person who surrendered their pet more than they are guilting themselves.

Makes me so mad!

Breaks my heart. I could never do that to my babies.

Heartbreaking

So sad. These babies have feelings, more than humans

So very sad. Don't worry little one, you will have new loving home soon ❀

Just unacceptable!!!

Shame shame poor doggie someone should abandoned the owner

Poor baby! That makes me sick I hope he finds a loving home πŸ™

This is heart breaking and tears my heart out, but at least they didn’t take him down an old dirt road and drop him off to fend for himself.

Breaks my heart. I only hope the owners see this post!

I hate people!

How can people do that 😒

😭

Today's adventures included, a nice morning walk with one of our rescue pups after taking the kids to school, one of my own dogs taking a ride with me to Sylacauga to pick up some parts, helping some baby opossum get into rescue with Mr Tim (their mommy died this morning), taking some of our rescue puppies on a ride to the vet for their Health Certificates so they can go on transport tomorrow, and being chased up my steps by a rooster when I got home to meet Robbie Parker for a price on some work for the rescue. I just couldn't get the door unlocked fast enough either. Then off to Dadeville pick up our daughter and big dog Docks from my husband who took them to work with him after school. He is as tired as I am. ... See moreSee less

Is there anyone in the horseshoe bend area of Dadeville that can go try and catch 2 female dogs? I have tried everything to catch them many times over the last 8 months and I just cant get them. I feel they will need to be shot with a dart gun to be caught. I have captured 2 litters of puppies from mama with the exception of her now grown daughter who will also soon be breeding. Both females need to be captured. Anyone that can go please let me know. It's on Concord Rd ... See moreSee less
